What is CBD oil and is it right for you?

Published June 25, 2019

There isn’t another supplement or herb getting more attention right now than CBD oil, so we examine its benefits, what to look for and who it is right for.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol and is one of the components of the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, CBD oil does not have a hallucinogenic effect on body. It provides all the health benefits without any of the effects that would make it unsafe/ unrecommended for use.

While it may take some time to accomplish, like all good things do, I believe CBD should be up at the top of the list of well-known herbs like Turmeric and Ashwaghanda for their amazing health benefits.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD works like a Traffic Signal for your body. It tells your body to speed up, slow down or stop body processes by communicating to receptor sites on your EndoCannabinoid System.  Scientists discovered this system 25years ago while researching the effects of cannabis on the central nervous system.

This system is comprised of your Brain/Lungs/Heart/Liver/Pancreas/Spleen/Colon/Muscles, so now it is easy to see why CBD is well documented to have such far reaching health benefits on your overall health b/c of its direct connection to your Central Nervous System and all major organ systems of your body.

What are Health Benefits of CBD Oil?

  • Pain Relief Relief muscle aches/strains
  • Stress Reduction
  • Decrease Inflammation
  • Decrease Joint Pain
  • Improved Energy Levels
  • Improved Sleep
  • Improved Immune Function
  • Improved Focus & Concentration
  • Improved Heart Health

What to Look For In CBD Product

There are two key things to look for when purchasing a CBD product: 1- USDA Organic 2- Full Spectrum.

USDA Organic- 3rd party Government certification to ensure your product from seed to oil is 100% Organic.

Full Spectrum- Indicates that the product is not denatured or synthetic in any way, Thus you receive all the benefits in its natural state.  Do NOT purchase Isolate formulas as those are synthetic, low quality.

My Shock In My Research of Products Available

I think most of us would assume that if it is sold in health food store or Whole Foods that it is safe for consumption and a quality product….However, when I looked across the plethora of products in local health food stores to online retailers I was shocked at how none had become USDA certified and most were not full spectrum.

Dr Class Recommendation:

Ancient Nutrition USDA Organic Full Spectrum CBD Oil

  • 20mg per serving
  • USDA Organic
  • Full Spectrum
  • Non GMO
  • US Grown
